Participation in the Intellectual Property (IP) Festival of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial GovernmentThe Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government announced it held the Fourth Gyeongsangbuk-do IP Fesival  on the theme of “Global IP companies blossoming like flowers based on inventions” in the Multipurpose Hall and Gallery of the government’s office on October 31.   The event was the first IP festival hosted by and held after the provincial government office moved to the northern region in February 2016 and Park Won-joo became the commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) last September.   In the exhibition hall, 23 companies participated, including KIPO’s Global IP-Star companies and IP Wings Program beneficiary companies. Here, they exhibited excellent products of small and medium enterprises and the achievements made through IP talent sharing projects that entailed supporting the branding and design of socially responsible companies for free.  “The four spirits of Gyeongsangbuk-do is what made the Korean economic miracle possible and the splendid cultural heritage of the province was created thanks to excellent brains and creativity,” said Governor Lee Cheol-woo of the province. “IPs are intangible assets that are highly valuable than anything else in order for Korea to leap forward and become a developed country in the future. Thus, we will work hard to actively support with passion the further development of IPs,” he continued.  Source: Asia News Agency
